            Dear Readers,

            We are delighted to present to you the 1  issue of the newly created international magazine
                                                  st
            vascular professional!

            With this independent magazine in English language we would like to promote and enrich scien-
            tifi c discussion and the exchange of experience in research and practice. The vision is to further

 editorial  establish the innovative, specifi cally, gentle methods in medicine and make them accessible to
            wide circles.

            With this 1  issue, we start with a comparison by Dr. Juergen Boehme from the Veincenter Luene-
                      st
            burg in Germany of 5-year-results of endovenous laser ablation of varicose veins with the 2-ring

            1470nm radialtip to the radiofrequency ClosureFAST-catheter. Further Prof. h.c. Dr. Alexander Flor
            from the Private Clinic Döbling, Vienna, Austria, and Dr. Andreas F. Balogh from the Hospital Flo-
            ridsdorf, Vienna, Austria, give a summary of the 35  International Várady Workshop for Phlebolo-

            gy, Lymphology and Angiology / 1  Veins International Congress Vienna which took place virtually
                                          st
            on November 21  2020. From the Czech Republic, Robert Vlachovský, M.D., Ph.D., VASCUMED the
                           st
            Vein Clinic, Brno, Prague, examined a non-randomized prospective study with 94 patients, the
            clinical effi  cacy and safety of two radial types of fi bres (single ring and 2ring) in endovenous laser
            ablation of saphenous varicose veins of the lower limb.

            As guest contribution, we are glad to have with us Matthias Heilmann from the German medical

            accounting management company MICADO HEALTH CARE GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, who gives
            us insight into how management companies are able to support integrating care structures for
            outpatient surgery in the German healthcare system.


            We hope you enjoy our articles and experience them as an interesting start into a worldwide ex-
            change and discussion about all perspectives of vascular surgery and treatment. We appreciate
